The abbess is personally involved in this struggle between the evil caged within the good which gives off a ray of light to illuminate the darkness. A distinct presence of two opposing forces, good and evil, separate Spirit from Matter. For dualism, spiritual interests must not mix with material ones. Is that hand that moves threads a divine hand or that of the Abbess? The visitor is given an answer.
